Problem. Classical aesthetics often describes beauty as disinterested or immediate, while cognitive approaches risk reducing aesthetic experience to heuristics, preference, or cultural training. This leaves a gap between surface aesthetic verdict and the deeper structure that makes such verdicts possible. Approach. Cognitive Aesthetics defines aesthetic intuition as a compressed rapid cognitive judgment. It distinguishes artistic-beauty intuition, natural-beauty intuition, and aesthetic intuition as an umbrella term; it also differentiates unidirectional consciousness mediation from TMA’s bidirectional body vibration. Contribution. The discipline offers a layered diagnosis of Kant’s disinterest, reframes natural beauty as explainable within cognitive beauty under the N-α lock, and establishes a sibling-position constellation with Three-Modal Aesthetics. It is not neuroaesthetics, not Kant commentary, and not a loose combination of “art studies” and “cognitive aesthetics.”

Cognitive Aesthetics and Three-Modal Aesthetics form a sibling-position constellation. CA handles the mediated aesthetic event in which the subject approaches the object through cognitive refraction and consciousness mediation. TMA handles the immediate bodily-aesthetic event in which beauty, handsomeness, coolness, cuteness, or related modal forces operate as direct or quasi-direct body vibration.
